The Plaintiff owned an insurance agency which mainly sold assigned risk auto insurance provided by a major underwriter, who was suffering losses associated with the book of business. The Underwriter threatened to terminate the agency, claiming that it had violated numerous required procedures.  The Plaintiff elected to sell the agency for less than its true value, rather than fight the underwriter. Keith L Miller brought an action against the underwriter, claiming that it had improperly interfered with the operation of the Plaintiff's business. After several years of contentious litigation, the parties mediated, and settled the case for a six figure amount.
